Modern Kitchen Safety Tips
The kitchen is a dangerous place. Not only are you working with hot surfaces, and boiling liquid, but you're handling sharp knives and utensils that can injure you in a second. So let's learn how to stay safe in the kitchen.For more safety tips at www.probaby-china.com.
1.Make sure all wires, cords and plugs on your appliances are not frayed and that the plugs have 3-prong grounded connections. This would include coffee makers, toasters, blenders, microwaves, mixers, etc.
2.Don’t use extension cords. You can obtain a junction box that has built-in GFI (ground fault interrupters). This will allow you extra plug in space and the GFI will kick in if there is a power shortage. Helps avoid water/electrical shock accidents.
3.Get rid of any appliance that is broken or damaged. New ones are very inexpensive these days. If a new one would bust your budget, try garage and tag sales (just make sure you’re not buying somebody else’s broken appliance).
4.Put a childproof lock not only on the cabinets with your medicines and cleaning supplies, but also your oven.
5.Don’t leave the kitchen with pots & pans cooking on the stove. Make sure to turn off burners as soon as you take the pot off.
6.Avoid wearing inappropriate clothing while cooking. That means loose sleeves and sweaters.
7.Keep dish towels, pot holders and oven mitts away from the stove.
8.Keep matches and lighters in high places where curious little hands can’t reach them.
9.If using candles in the kitchen, don’t leave the room (or home) while they’re burning. Make sure they are in a safe place and are in flame proof containers.
10.Check furniture, curtains, dish towels, etc. to be sure they are not blocking heaters or vents.

Baby safety: Protect baby from home furniture appliances
In 2013, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released a report regarding injuries and fatalities caused by tip-overs of furniture, appliances and TVs. Baby safety should be pay more attention by family with child all the time.
Over 40% of these fatalities occurred in bedrooms, while 19% occurred in living or family rooms. Some of these appear to have been because families purchased or transitioned to flat screen televisions and moved their older, heavier TVs into bedrooms and other rooms in the house without the appropriate stands or anchoring devices.
To help prevent tip-over tragedies, CPSC recommends the following safety measures in homes where children live or visit:
l Anchor furniture to the wall or the floor.
l Place TVs on sturdy low bases, or anchor the furniture and the TV on top of the base, and push the TV as far back on the furniture as possible.
l Keep remote controls, toys and other items that might attract children off of TV stands or furniture.
l Keep TV and/or cable cords out of reach of children.
l Make sure freestanding kitchen ranges and stoves are installed with anti-tip brackets.
l Supervise children in rooms where these safety tips have not been followed.

How to install and remove baby safety corner cushion?
If you have a baby, you are probably intimately familiar with baby safety corner cushion. They can adhere to furniture corner, wall corner, serve as an important function to prevent baby or little child from injuries of collision by sharp angle and hard edge. But you just place the corner cushion on the furniture corner or edge, something just is not right. Either the cushions don’t stick tight enough, or they stick too tightly and won’t come off when you’re done with them, or they stick just right but leave a gluey residue behind after you remove them. Here are instructions on how to properly install and remove your corner cushions!
To Install:
Corner Cushions:
1. Dry wipe surface area of sharp corner;
2. Apply double-sided tape firmly to all four inner surfaces of corner cushion by aligning tape to cushion’s outer edges: short tape for either short surface, long tape for three other surfaces;
3. Remove tape backings and push cushion deeply and snugly into sharp corner;
4. Press all sides of cushion firmly for several seconds.
Edge Cushions (Do not stretch cushion):
1. Install corner cushions first, as instructed above;
2. Measure the distance of the exposed furniture edge between the two just-installed corner cushions; cut section of the edge cushion to fit; repeat as necessary for each side of the furniture
3. Dry wipe surface area of furniture edge;
4. Apply double-sided tape firmly to both inner surfaces of the edge cushion by aligning the tape to the cushion’s outer edges: start at one end and apply strips of tape to cover entire length of the edge cushion;
5. Remove the tape backings and push cushion deeply and snugly into furniture edge, starting at one end of the edge and working to the other (i.e., do not start applying edge guard to the table from the middle)
6. Press both sides of cushion firmly for several seconds along its complete length.
TO CLEAN AND CARE:
Wipe corner and edge cushion clean with a damp cloth. You can use a little soap, but do not use it excessively, and do not use alcohol or other cleaners. Keep cushion dry and oil free. Do not allow cushion to absorb liquids or furniture underneath the cushion may become damaged.
TO REMOVE:
Corner Cushions:
Grab both ends of the corner cushion and slowly and gradually pull it off by working in towards the corner.
Edge Cushions:
Grab one end of the edge cushion and slowly and gradually pull it off by working towards the other end.
If glue residue remains on the wood surface, use your finger tip to rub a few drops of vegetable oil, such as olive oil, onto the wood and work in circles until glue comes loose; use a paper towel to remove any remaining tape or glue. You may have to repeat this a few times. For surfaces other than wood, you could try using rubbing alcohol (first check the guidelines of that particular surface). We do not recommend using alcohol on wood surfaces.
