Tips for Caring for Your Floor

  • To reduce scratches, attrition and dents, put or stick adequate furniture floor protection (such as felt pads, heavy duty nail-on pads) to the feet of all furniture or appliances before placing them on hardwood floors.

  • When moving heavy furniture, attach furniture slider on the furniture legs or place a blanket or a scrap of carpet face down, under each leg; slide furniture carefully.

  • Use area rugs in heavily traveled areas, especially if you have a large family. Place rugs at all entrances, as well as by the kitchen sink and dishwasher. Avoid exposing your floors to direct sunlight. Exposure to sunlight can slightly change the shade of your floors. Periodically rearrange rugs and furniture to avoid discoloration from occurring.

  • Never use a wet mop or water to clean hardwood floors as this can dull the finish, permanently damage your floor and will void the warranties. Avoid using household remedies and all-purpose cleaners to care for your floors.

  • Remove spills promptly using soft cloth and appropriate cleaning product. Cleaner- it has superb cleaning properties and cares for your floor by forming a thin, water-soluble protective film.  Cleaner won’t dull the surface gloss and won’t make your floors slippery.

  • Regularly sweep or vacuum floors to prevent dirt and dust from scratching the finish. Use only brush of felt type vacuum head. Be certain that the wheels of the vacuum do not damage the finish. Regularly scatter rugs to remove dirt and grit.
