How to install and remove baby safety corner cushion?

If you have a baby, you are probably intimately familiar with baby safety corner cushion. To Install:
Corner Cushions:
1. Dry wipe surface area of sharp corner;
2. Apply double-sided tape firmly to all four inner surfaces of corner cushion by aligning tape to cushion’s outer edges: short tape for either short surface, long tape for three other surfaces;
3. Remove tape backings and push cushion deeply and snugly into sharp corner;
4. Press all sides of cushion firmly for several seconds.

Edge Cushions (Do not stretch cushion):
1. Install corner cushions first, as instructed above;
2. Measure the distance of the exposed furniture edge between the two just-installed corner cushions; cut section of the edge cushion to fit; repeat as necessary for each side of the furniture
3. Dry wipe surface area of furniture edge;
4. Apply double-sided tape firmly to both inner surfaces of the edge cushion by aligning the tape to the cushion’s outer edges: start at one end and apply strips of tape to cover entire length of the edge cushion;
5. Remove the tape backings and push cushion deeply and snugly into furniture edge, starting at one end of the edge and working to the other (i.e., do not start applying edge guard to the table from the middle)
6. Press both sides of cushion firmly for several seconds along its complete length.



TO CLEAN AND CARE:
Wipe corner and edge cushion clean with a damp cloth.  You can use a little soap, but do not use it excessively, and do not use alcohol or other cleaners.  Keep cushion dry and oil free.  Do not allow cushion to absorb liquids or furniture underneath the cushion may become damaged.

TO REMOVE:
Corner Cushions:
Grab both ends of the corner cushion and slowly and gradually pull it off by working in towards the corner.

Edge Cushions:
Grab one end of the edge cushion and slowly and gradually pull it off by working towards the other end.
If glue residue remains on the wood surface, use your finger tip to rub a few drops of vegetable oil, such as olive oil, onto the wood and work in circles until glue comes loose; use a paper towel to remove any remaining tape or glue.  You may have to repeat this a few times.  For surfaces other than wood, you could try using rubbing alcohol (first check the guidelines of that particular surface). We do not recommend using alcohol on wood surfaces.

This Lesson we will teach you about the medication safety for babies. Parents always worried about their babies refuse to take medicine when they are sick. So parents always cheat babies and small children that medicines look and taste like candy or food. While this might make it easier for little ones to take medicines, it also means parents need to be extremely careful to keep medicines up and away when not being used. Here are some simple tips to ensure your baby’s safety.


Put all medicines up and away and out of sight inlcuding your own. Make sure that all medicines and vitamins are stored out of reach and out of sight of children. In 3 out of 4 emergency room visits for medicine poisoning, the child got into medicine belonging to a parent or grandparent.

Even if you are tempted to keep it handy, put medicine out of reach after every use. When you need to give another dose in just a few hours, it may be tempting to keep medicine close at hand. But accidents can happen fast, and it only takes a few seconds for children to get into medicine that could make them very sick. Put medicine up and away after every use.

And if you need a reminder, set an alarm on your watch or cell phone, or  write yourself a note.
Talk to your kids about medication safety. Even if their medication tastes good, don’t compare it to candy to encourage kids to take it.

Close your medicine caps tightly after every use. Buy medicines in child-resistant packages when you can. But remember, child-resistant does not mean child-proof, and some children will still be able to get into medicine given enough time and persistence.

Educate grandparents. It is estimated that in 38 percent of ER visits involving a medicine poisoning, the medicine belonged to a grandparent. Talk to grandparents about being extra mindful with medicine or pillboxes when children are around.

Consider places where kids get into medicine. Kids get into medication in all sorts of places, like in purses and nightstands.  In 67% of emergency room visits for medicine poisoning, the medicine was left within reach of a child, such as in a purse, on a counter or dresser, or on the ground. Place purses and bags in high locations, and avoid leaving medicines on a nightstand or dresser.

Be alert to visitors’ medicine. Guests in your home may not be thinking about the medicine they brought with them in their belongings. In 43% of emergency room visits for medicine poisoning, the medicine a child got into belonged to a relative, such as a grandparent, aunt or uncle. When you have guests in your home, offer to put purses, bags and coats out of reach of children to protect their property from a curious child.

Use the dosing device that comes with the medicine. Proper dosing is important, particularly for young children. Kitchen spoons aren't all the same, and a teaspoon and tablespoon used for cooking won't measure the same amount as the dosing device.

To decrease the chances of flat spots from forming on your baby's head let the baby lie on the tummy while someone is around and watching. Keep changing the direction of the baby in the sleeping area every week.

We know that stuffed animals, bumpers and all those cute accessories make a baby’s crib seem warm and cozy. Unfortunately, they can often do more harm than good. Soft bedding can block a baby’s airway during sleep. A firm mattress covered with a tight-fitting crib sheet is all you need to make your baby sleep like a baby.

The baby's crib must be kept away from the heat vent or any other direct source of heat or cold air. For preventing the baby from getting overheated it is best to used layered clothing. The baby should not be overdressed. If you’re worried about keeping your baby warm on those cold winter nights, try using a sleep-sack (wearable blanket). They’re pretty cozy.

Most infant suffocation occurs during sleep but don’t worry, your baby will be fine. Just spend a little time to make sure your crib is safe.

If you can fit a can of soda between the slats of a crib, that means a child’s head, hand or foot could get stuck.

Make sure the mattress is firm and fits snugly; otherwise a child could get stuck between the gaps. Cover it with a crib sheet with nothing else in it.

The sleep surface is also very important. Health workers have observed that babies who sleep under or on soft bedding are more likely to die of SIDS.Babies should not sleep on beds, sofas, recliners, chairs, soft surfaces, bouncy chairs or baby swings. If this happens, make sure to return your baby to a safe sleep environment.

New parents have a million things to do, but learning CPR should be on the top of the list. It will give you tremendous peace of mind – and the more peace of mind you have as a parent, the better.
